5 November- Learning from our fellow MOPS

We've heard from two psychologists and a registered dietician so far this term-- now it's time to sit back, chat and hear from each other!

While we work to put our Christmas service project together (see below), we'll also have a chance to find out more about the other ladies at our table through some ice breakers and free conversation. Come and find out what you have in common with, or can learn from, our fellow MOPS!

Christmas Service Project

Our selected charity for the MOPS Christmas service project is Batu Aji Home in Batam, Indonesis. The children living at Batu Aji come from single-parent homes or are survivors of the 2004 Banda Aceh tsunami. The home is run under the supervision of Pastor Minto and his wife, Hana.

Each table will have 2-3 children we will assemble special Christmas boxes for. MOPS will provide the boxes, gift wrapping and card-making materials.

Each table will help collect the gifts and treats for each box:

1-2 Sweets/candy/snacks (no chocolate)
2-3 Stationary items: pencils, pens, markers, notepads, stickers
1 Fun item: fun socks, small ball, scarf, sunglasses, hat, small game, cards
3 Grooming/hygiene items: comb, soap, toothbrush/toothpaste, hand wipes/sanitizer, lip balm, creams
1 Special item for boy/girl: hair accessories, earrings, bangles, sewing kit, compass, LED keychain, tape measure, duct tape

Please co-ordinate with your Designated Group Leader and your table members to decide who will bring what items to the meeting on 5 November. If you are new to MOPS and haven't been assigned to a table yet, please just bring yourself and we are glad to have you!
